Recently, I have been busier with my job and trying to fit in all my daily duties that sometimes I arrive to my house at night with only enough strength to fall to my knees and lay it all at His feet. Sometimes I worry so much about my students and their learning patterns, my skills as a teacher, my health, my future, etc. that can tire a person out faster then anything! I have realized that I am beginning to feel up my day with worrying, why? What good does worrying do? June 6th was Teacher's Day here in Bolivia and it is a very big holiday. All the students understand that it is the day to show appreciation to their teachers for their time and effort. The parents in my class got together and bought me a beautiful bracelet, but the kind words spoken alone, brought me to my knees. How often do we as students of God just go to Him, on our knees and thank Him for being our teacher, for taking on our burdens, and for helping us make through this life. I am learning more and more ( from experience) how important positive feedback and encouragement is and I don't think God is an exempt from that, He needs to hear it too! This years Mother's Day presentation was on Friday May 25th and my 1st grade children were chosen to do a song called "Country Kid." You can't imagine the delight that filled this teacher's soul, upon hearing the news. I had so much fun helping the music teacher with the costums and ideas because it was natural to me. The greatest part of the whole program for me was the combination of ethnic groups that were represented in our small school. We have 350 students from Nursery school to 12th grade and that is a good number for a private school in Bolivia but the last song that was sung was our school song "Heal the World" by Micheal Jackson and during the chorus where it says "heal the world make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race." The whole student body waved flags from the countries that we represent at the school and it was breath taking, especially with the problems that our world is going through right now. It was a reminder to me that God is with us and that He will continue to be with our future generations.
